Considered a 'top of the range' fondant sugar paste, Saracino White Sugar Paste is manufactured in Italy and is highly regarded by sugar crafters for its elasticity, flawless smooth texture and delicate vanilla taste.
This ready to roll 'pasta top' fondant icing is extremely elastic and can be used to cover cakes without creating the 'elephant skin' style cracking that can occur with other pastes. Like Saracino's other popular pastes, it's elasticity allows it to be rolled to a thickness of 1mm, whilst maintaining it's strength and flexibility.
The unique formula of this paste also allows it to be worked in high temperatures (up to 30 degrees) and humidity. The icing has a delicate caramel scent and flavour and deliciously smooth texture.
Colour with concentrated paste colours, or mix with any pre-coloured ready to roll icing.
The paste comes in a resealable pot with an inner bag to maintain freshness and is best stored in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight.
Saracino Top Paste is Vegan Friendly, Gluten Free, and Does Not Contain Hydrogenated Fats or Palm Oil.
We recommend working the paste by hand before using it for at least two minutes in order to make it elastic and tear resistant. If this is not enough, it can be heated briefly in a microwave to soften. Just for 10 seconds (700W).
The warmth makes the cocoa butter ingredient melt and make the paste soft and easy to work. One of its other ingredients is tragacanth, a natural product that makes Pasta TOP extremely elastic. It is easy to roll to as thin as 1mm with a rolling pin or with a sheeter. In this way, it will be perfect to cover cakes guaranteeing a great look.
Pasta TOP can also be used for decoration on cold desserts as refrigeration does not affect the Pasta Top.
